Poland

Wow - where has winter gone? As I sit here frantically grading papers, I am reflecting over the 9 weeks that I have been in Hungary. I can't believe it!! The third quarter (3rd nine weeks) grading period is officially over. The quarter ended last Wednesday. I had the opportunity to go on a road trip with my roomates to Krakow, Poland Wednesday through Sunday because of Hungarian holidays. We had a great time. It was a much needed break for us all. You can view fun pictures from Poland by clicking on the album below.

March in Poland

While in Poland, Allison, Sara, and I visited Wawel Hill (cathedral, castle, gardens, etc). We also were able to take a side trip to Auschwitz-Birkenau. Very sad but interesting. In Hungary the weather has been sunny and in the upper 50's - I'm soaking it all in!

Please pray for the rest of the semester. Another teacher counted around 45 days left of school! AHH. Currently we are studying fantasy, fairy tales, and myths in 6th and 8th grade English. In Civics we just finished studying the United Kingdom government and today we start on India! Pray that I will be patient and love all of my student with unconditional love.

Thank you to everyone who has sent me such thoughtful and wonderful packages and letters - they have meant so much to me! All of the teachers AND students are jealous...I love it. Sorry for the long update but there is a lot of tell!! More to come...

March Madness

Although it is only the 4th of March - this month has been CRAZY. Click on the album above to see pictures from my spontaneous trip to Vienna (for less than 24 hours), ICSB Basketball tournament, 8th grade, and Van Gogh. Although I love Hungary and ICSB (International Christian School of Budapest), I have started a countdown for this summer! I cannot wait to come home to the US and see all of you.

Please pray for my classes - pray that I will love all my students with Christ's love! As a first year teacher I'm told that the feeling of treading water or the feeling that I'm slowly sinking - is normal...but I hate it! Pray that I will be an effective teacher to these students, both in my subject matter as well as the gospel of Christ.

This weekend ICSB hosted a basketball tournament for 7 schools all over Europe. The girl's team won and the boy's team came in 2nd place. It was tons of fun to see all of the students and family get SO into the games. I posted videos of the boys game as well as the crazy antics of the students. Enjoy!
